Sample wines at the Solar do Vinho do Porto, run by the Port and Douro Wines Institute, before hitting the road.

N222 Riverside Section - Leaving Régua eastward, the N222 hugs the south bank of the Douro, delivering spectacular views of the valley's sunlit northern slopes. Terraced vineyards—some dating back centuries—climb impossibly steep hillsides. The landscape becomes progressively more dramatic as you travel east.
