Begin in Walhalla, a mountain town near the Georgia border. Fuel up here and grab a coffee before heading northeast on SC-11.

Key Stops & Highlights

1. Stumphouse Tunnel & Issaqueena Falls. Explore an unfinished 1850s railroad tunnel and hike to Issaqueena Falls, a 100-foot cascade named for a Cherokee legend.
2. Lake Jocassee & Devils Fork State Park. Kayak crystal-clear waters framed by the Jocassee Gorges. The lake’s hidden waterfalls are accessible only by boat.
3. Table Rock State Park. Hike the Table Rock Trail (6.2 miles round-trip) for panoramic views or swim in Pinnacle Lake. The park’s CCC-built lodge offers rustic charm.
