This 195 km drive winds through Bosnia and Herzegovina’s dramatic landscapes, combining Ottoman history, emerald rivers, and cliffside roads. The journey takes 2.5–3 hours but allow extra time for stops!

Begin in Sarajevo, Bosnia’s capital, where Ottoman bazaars meet Austro-Hungarian architecture. Fuel up and grab a burek (savory pastry) before heading southwest on the M17 (E73) highway.

1. Konjic. Old Stone Bridge: A 17th-century Ottoman bridge over the turquoise Neretva River.
2. Boračko Lake. A glacial lake surrounded by pine forests. Swim or picnic here in summer.
